About cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by the websites you visit. This policy explains which cookies the roov.africa website uses and what they do. The Roov mobile apps don't use browser cookies but use equivalent local storage for the same purposes.
Essential cookies
Session cookies (roov_access_token, roov_user_role, roov_has_tenant_profile, roov_has_pm_profile, roov_pm_setup_complete): keep you signed in as you move around the site and determine which surface (marketplace, tenant home, manager dashboard) to route you to. Without these you can't stay signed in.
CSRF tokens: protect against cross-site request forgery attacks on state-changing requests.
Preference cookies
Remember your recent choices — for example, which chat tab you last used or whether you dismissed a coach mark.
Analytics
Roov uses analytics to understand how the platform is used — which pages are popular, where users get stuck, how features perform. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify individual users to Roov staff.
Third-party cookies
Paystack sets cookies on its own checkout pages during payment. Those cookies are governed by Paystack's privacy policy, not this one.
Your choices
You can clear cookies from your browser at any time. Note that clearing session cookies will sign you out of Roov.
You can block cookies entirely in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent Roov from working.
